The bees fly around and above their special flowers

Simple buzzing is a tranquil white noise to my ears

Along with the birds singing their special songs

Are the harmonious melodies of spring

My darling baby boy is settled composedly on my bosom

Though his father is no longer around, I feel him

He lives in spring, he is spring

The very thought comforts me

The sunshine is engulfing my body

And it feels almost as if he is here beside me at this very moment

My feet dangle off of the edge of the steep cliff

As I look to the crashing waves below

The rocks melee with the tides coming their way

I realize that the ocean is similar to my heart

Claude Monet: artist research

Claude Monet was a man that was born in 1840 in Paris, France. His life ended in 1926. His father’s name was Claude Adolphe Monet, and his mother’s name was Louise Justine Aubree Monet. Adolphe worked in the family shipping business, and Louise was a hostess/ singer/ poet. Monet had one older brother: Leon Pascal Monet. For an education, Monet went to study at Le Harve secondary school of the arts. Later in his life he became a student of the artist Charles Gleyre.

Monet had many friends that were also in a profession that revolved around art. His friends included Camille Pissaro, Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frederic Bazille. In 1870 Monet married Camille Doncieux. They had two children. The older of the two was Jean Monet, and the youngest was Michel Monet. The couple separated in 1879. Then, in 1892 Monet married Alice Hoschede. They did not last forever, for they separated in 1911.

Monet had many struggles in his life time. His first major struggle came when he was just a boy. His mother died, and she was the only one in his family who had supported his artistic efforts, so she was very dear to him. Later in his life, after his marriage to Camille, he was in a dire financial straits right around the time that the couple were expecting the birth of their first son. Monet reached out to his father for help, but the old man refused to give them a penny. Another example of Monet’s struggles was happening all throughout his career as a painter. He was known to suffer bouts of depression and self-doubt. Those feelings led him to destroy (burn, cut, or kick) approximately 500 pieces of his artwork.

Monet mostly worked with the medium of oil paints. His paintings were realistic, but with broad strokes that added a sense of fantasy to the paintings. He was an impressionist artist. His most famous works include Sunrise, Water Lilies, and Haystacks. My two personal favorites of his are “Springtime” and “Rocks at Port-Coton, The Lion Rock, Belle-Ile.” Springtime was a painting of the orchard of Monet’s garden at Giverny in 1886. The Lion Rock was a painting of the west coast of Brittany- the effects of sea and sky on the Atlantic coast were very different to those he experienced in Normandy.

Many important historical events occurred during Monet’s lifetime. The first was the American Civil War in 1861. Then, in 1862, Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves. After that, Lincoln was assassinated in 1865. The Spanish-American War broke out in 1898. One final example of a major historical event that Monet lived through was the Franco-Prussian war, which raged from 1870-1871.

1: It is important to write about what you know and about your mistakes so others can learn from what you have done wrong.

3: I would never write for a newspaper because I have heard that it is way too much work and way too time consuming for the pay that you receive.

5: I think someone can start officially date starting in eighth grade. I think girls can start wearing a thong as soon as they get embarrassing panty lines when wearing sweat pants or leggings. I don’t think there is a certain age where someone can all of a sudden start falling in love. Love knows no limits.

6: I have been in many situations recently with my parents where I didn’t think they could handle the truth. Those have been the only times I have lied to them, but I felt guilty immediately and confessed and was punished for lying. Though, if I told them the truth from the start I feel as if I would still be punished. Once you are older I think you can tell in three days if you love someone, if you already know a lot about them and have things in common.

8: I like guys to have a good muscle tone, smooth face, strong back, dazzling eyes, breath-taking smile, intelligence, artistic talent, caring nature, and a good sense of humor.

10: My best hiding spot as a kid was in a hall closet, but I would climb up onto the high shelf (that was above everyone’s head if they are to look it) and I would lay up there, because I was small enough and agile enough to get up there and fit.

12: I do think well-traveled people are more interesting because they have witnessed more diverse cultures, foods, and surroundings than people who mainly stay in one place for the entirety of their life.

16: My perfect day would be at the beach and cuddling my hubby in between sun-bathing, reading, swimming, and playing paddle ball. Also snorkeling if the ocean I was around had a beautiful array of coral and marine life.

Movie Questions

One of my favorite movies is John Wick. I love this action movie because it is full of revenge that all of us secretly want to carry out but never have the guts to do. It also has some sweet, heart-touching moments that make you go “aww.”

            I do not usually care for gooey romantic movies, because they are so unrealistic in my eyes. I would never want to live my life expecting my love life to play off like one of those perfect love stories, because then I would never be happy with the relationship I have and I would always expect more and never be satisfied. I also detest movies that are ONLY depressive, like movies about war or a family going through hard times. I get way too into the movie that I’m watching to the point that it will severely affect my mood, and I hate being depressed and upset, especially when what I am worrying about is not a real life situation.

            I would love to watch movies more often, but I normally do not have the patience to wait for a movie to come out on DVD, and I do not want to spend an enormous and ridiculous amount of money for movie tickets. When I do save up a good amount of movie, I go to the theatre with one or two of my friends, or my significant other. When a movie has been out for a long time, my grandmother will usually get the DVD and we will watch it at her house. I was not originally planning on watching John Wick a few days ago, but my grandma brought home the DVD and started watching it as I was doing homework and I could not pull my eyes away from the screen.

            I try not to eat or drink too much while watching a movie, because it distracts me from the story and it keeps me from fully transporting myself into the screen with that different world. Along the same lines, I need my environment to be absolutely silent so I can put all my attention towards the movie. I like to watch movies with friends, because it gives me someone to talk to about the movie and to share reactions to things in the film. My favorite thing to do is go with a significant other to a horror movie, so I can grab on to their arm and lean into them when I am scared, as a way to bring me back to the reality that I am O.K and I am not actually in the movie.

            If my life story was made into a movie, I don’t know who would play me because I don’t pay attention to actresses or their names, but I would prefer for them to be short, with my same body shape, and either blonde or brunette hair. They would also need to portray a self-conscious teenager well, who has issues with “going with the flow” and being easy going.  One main plot point in the movie would be me making small talk well with others, but never making any new friends- just sticking with my two main friends from elementary school. Another plot point would be a conflict between my parents and I that cause them to yell at me, and in turn make me ball my eyes out. The third and final part would be my parents explaining that they just want what’s best for me, even though I may not be able to see that all of the time. That would be a happy ending, with my parents and grandma taking to a nice restaurant so we can have good long family conversations.
